In anticipation of a winter weather system that is expected to bring snow to Greensboro overnight, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will move to Condition 1 starting at midnight tonight and ending at 10 a.m. on Friday. The university will return to normal operations at 10 a.m.
As a reminder, Condition 1 means that non-mandatory employees have the option work from home, leave work early or not report to work with supervisor approval. Those employees who choose not to work must use available personal leave time to cover their absence. Staff and faculty should consider their own personal circumstances in determining their work schedule for Friday. Mandatory employees are expected to report to work or remain at work (View Adverse Weather ABCs).
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our area. Currently, up to an inch of snow is expected. Little to no freezing rain is expected at this time. The timing for this event is between 2 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Travel impacts are expected to be minimal and confined to the normal bridges and overpasses.
Tonight’s late-night breakfast for students will proceed as planned. The Winter Wishes Holiday Celebration will proceed as scheduled Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center, as planned.
Please exercise caution when moving in and around the university. For up-to-the-minute weather information as the system moves through the Piedmont Triad, visit the National Weather Service website.
