EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (June 10, 2026) — North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will conclude its autonomous food delivery service with Starship Technologies as the company shifts its business strategy away from university campus operations in the United States.
Starship Technologies recently announced it will wind down U.S. campus operations to focus on expanding opportunities in other markets across Europe and the United States.
The food delivery service at North Carolina A&T will officially end Friday, June 12. The transition is already underway, and the robots are no longer operating on campus.
The university is working closely with Starship Technologies to ensure a smooth closure of the service.
Since its launch at A&T in fall 2021, the Starship robots provided students, faculty, and staff with a convenient, on-demand food delivery option, becoming a familiar feature of campus life. A&T was the first historically Black college or university to partner with Starship, as well as its first partnership in North Carolina.
A&T Campus Enterprises is actively exploring new opportunities to enhance dining convenience and service delivery for the campus community. Updates regarding alternative delivery options or replacement services will be shared as information becomes available. In the meantime, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to continue using the university’s on-campus dining locations.
