Benefits of Choosing Aggie Academy

There are many advantages to choosing a laboratory school for your student’s education.

  1. Small school size. Aggie Academy has a maximum enrollment capacity of 100 students across the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Class sizes are also smaller than classes in the traditional school setting across all three grades.
  2. Increased attention for each student. With smaller class sizes come great opportunities for our highly qualified teachers to engage with each scholar on an individual level. Our teachers are intentional with interpreting available data to make meaningful instructional choices to support the learning experience of every child. Scholars also have opportunities for individualized supplemental instruction with N.C. A&T teacher candidates and university faculty.
  3. Partnership with a top-tier doctoral research university. The Junior Aggie Scholars of Aggie Academy become a part of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. This partnership allows for research on how to leverage strong instructional practices across other schools, including our partner district Guilford County Schools. Aggie Academy consistently draws from the latest innovations in educational research and instructional best practices shared through the university’s award-winning College of Education. Scholars also have opportunities to visit cutting-edge research laboratories at A&T and learn how a career in STEAM professions could be an exciting part of their future.
  4. Access to A&T resources. The university features extensive resources for scholar success. Our scholars hear about university programs and learning opportunities through STEAM conferences and college major fairs featuring the students and faculty throughout the university. Additionally, afterschool and summer camp programs focused on enriching the learning experience outside of the regular school day are offered free of charge.
  5. Family Engagement Opportunities. North Carolina A&T is committed to serving the East Greensboro community. Aggie Academy families have access to and opportunities to engage with the university through various school-wide events held throughout the year.
